Returning home…
Wild Spirit Therapy is rooted in a deep respect for the body’s wisdom and the innate capacity within each person to heal and return to their authentic self.
A little about me…
I’m Tess Hynes, a somatic psychotherapist (somatic meaning - related to the body) and yoga teacher. I was raised on an organic farm in a big family and I developed an early appreciation for nature, health and the relationship between body and mind. Movement practices such as ecstatic dance and contact improvisation have been important parts of my journey of self-expression, healing and connection. I love dancing!
With 15 years of experience as a yoga teacher, my work has long been grounded in mindful movement, breath and embodied awareness. This foundation has naturally evolved into my path as a therapist, where I now support people in reconnecting with themselves in a deeper, more integrated way physically, emotionally and psychologically.
Therapy approach…
My approach is informed by HAKOMI SOMATIC PSYCHOTHERAPY, a gentle yet powerful mindfulness-based method that explores how unconscious patterns are held within the body.
Hakomi works by slowing things down and bringing curious, compassionate attention to present-moment experience. Through this process, we can safely access core beliefs and early experiences that shape how we relate to ourselves, others and the world. Through present-moment exploration, Hakomi invites clients to slow down and compassionately observe their inner experience, creating space for deeper insight, emotional healing, and lasting change. Rather than trying to “fix” anything, Hakomi honours the intelligence of the system, allowing insight and transformation to emerge organically.
At Wild Spirit Therapy, I offer a space that is grounded, attuned and deeply respectful of each individual’s unique journey. My intention is to walk alongside you as you rediscover your inner resources, soften protective patterns that no longer serve you and reconnect with your true essence. This work is not about becoming someone new, but about remembering who you already are… beneath the conditioning, beneath the noise and in alignment with your wild, authentic spirit.
